That need for knowledge leads Raymond to the Las Vegas crime lab, where he becomes a forensic scientist. Fishburne will be replacing William Petersen (Gil Grissom) as the show's leading man, but Raymond won't be replacing Grissom as the team's leader. "He plays a different character entirely and will be approaching the whole thing from a completely different level," Petersen said. Fishburne explained, "When we meet him, he will enter as a CSI one, so he's the low man on the totem pole, but he has all this pathological experience, which is kind of an interesting thing to play."

"He's a pretty no-nonsense guy," Fishburne said of his character. "Being an academic and having a lot of practical knowledge with bodies once they've been removed from a crime scene is one thing. Actually encountering a body the first time at a crime scene, that's a different experience, and I'm sure that will have an effect on this character."

Laurence Fishburne will be doing more than just solving crimes at CBS.

The newly introduced star of "CSI" -- the network's top show -- has also signed a first-look deal with the show's producer CBS Paramount Network TV. His company, Cinema Gypsy, will develop projects for the studio under the direction of former Paramount and TV One executive Rose Catherine Pinkney.

"I have always wanted to continue to expand our production efforts at Cinema Gypsy into television, and Rose Catherine's extensive background and experience in TV is a natural fit with those plans," Fishburne tells Variety.

Fishburne made his first appearance on "CSI" last week, playing a criminology professor whose study of a serial killer intersects with a case of Grissom's (William Petersen). The episode drew the show's biggest audience (20.9 million people) since its season premiere, which bodes well for when Fishburne takes over full-time for the departing Petersen in January.

Fishburne's credits as a producer include a pair of HBO films, "Always Outnumbered" and "Miss Evers' Boys," and the feature film "Akeelah and the Bee."

merci pour la vidéo et l'article mais franchement j'ai du mal à me faire à laurence fishburne je trouve qu'il ne joue pas bien et il est mis trop en avant dans l'équipe . Je n'accroche pas au personnage du tout .

Laurence Fishburne’s daughter Montana is speaking out about her decision to appear in an upcoming adult film.

“Being in an adult film is not a big deal to me,” Montana, 18, told People. “It’s something I always wanted to do. I have always been comfortable in my body and with my sexuality… I am not in porn to get into acting. I am in porn because I wanted to be in porn.”

The daughter of the “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” star told the mag she shot the video without telling her family.

“I had already filmed it by the time they knew, so I didn’t give them a chance to talk me out of it… so I could pursue what I want to do without being constrained by them,” she explained.

Montana hopes her dad will one day be proud of her decision.

“I hear through relatives that he’s upset but I haven’t talked to him directly for him to tell me his feelings,” she said. “I hope it’s not hurting him. It wasn’t done to hurt him… But I think it will take time and talking through the issues. Eventually, I hope he will be proud of me.”

When contacted by the mag, a rep for the actor declined to comment.
